7 Must Try Primers

One of the very first things I learned about makeup application was the importance of skin. Always remember, no amount of foundation, liquid or powder can replace your skin. Simply put, Great skin equals great makeup. Using and choosing a primer  that best suits your skin’s needs is crucial. For example if your skin is dry, the best way to achieve and maintain hydrated skin is to use a hydrating primer. Due to my combo skin I can go either way. I have and tried both mattifying and hydrating primers, from drug store to high end brands. Here are my current favorite top 7 primers.

    Too faced primed & peachy
cooling matte skin perfecting primer $35
This primer was a part of the just peachy collection by toofaced. This smells amazing and does exactly what it claims to do. It definitely gives a cool awakening feel to the skin. It’s a total life saver for me in the morning. This primer applies like a dream and is so very comfortable on the skin. I also used this one a lot during the summer when my skin decided it was 100% oily. I’ve used this primer with other foundations and it works  the same. It keeps me matte for well over 12 hours. This is a must try.

                               No Poreblem primer $18
I spotted this primer in Rilely Rose and I’m so happy I did. This primer blurs pores and imperfections. Its velvet texture allows this primer to easily be applied without effort. My foundation applies This primer is crazy affordably.

Baby skin instant pore eraser  $5.94
This was actually the first drugstore concealer I ever bought. I love it because it goes on so smooth and even. What I really like about this primer is that I can use it with or without foundation and it works just as well at softly  blurring imperfections.

                       NYX Angel Veil  $16
This is my favorite matte drugstore primer. I actually dedicated a full post on this primer a little while ago but I had to mention it again. It’s a bit expensive for a drugstore primer but defiantly worth more. The texture of this primer reminds me of the Too faced primed and peachy and does a awesome job at keeping you matte throughout the day. Nyx has definitely came to win with this primer.

              Too faced Hangover Rx  $15
After hearing great things about this primer and had to give it a try. This silicone based primer, has reviving ingredients to help bring life back to your skin. The hangover Rx primer is perfect for dry skin or if your skin needs a extra boost of nourishment. It adheres to my foundation so well and makes my skin look super healthy. I  have to say it has a funny smell but it goes away after a few minutes. But it’s such a good product and gives my skin such a healthy glow that it doesn’t bother me at all.

      Loreal Infallible
 Pro-Glow Lock $10.99
If your looking for a truly long lasting luminous primer, this is it. This primer not only hydrates but its pure radiance in a tube. I used this primer along with the pro glow foundation, I wasn’t ready. Needless to say it’s amazing. This primer has a beautiful iridescent finish that makes your skin a glow from within. I use it                                                                                                 with and without foundation. Just                                                                                                     remember a little goes a long way.

                Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r
 retouch primer  $32
This primer blurs, fills in pores and provides a smooth canvas before foundation. I’ve tried this with other foundations and it works just as well as it does with the fenty foundation. This primer is perfect for me year round.  During the colder months I mix it with a little bit of moisturizer before applying to my face and just like that, demi matte  perfection.
