I spotted this product at my local Walgreens for about $10. This all in one face cleanser claims to cleanse and remove makeup leaving your skin refreshed. It also states that it’s a gentle, powerful cleanser that contains no oil, alcohol or fragrances. After reading all the claims my interest were sparked because it looked like plain water at first glace.
For review purposes I wore no makeup before using this. That night after work I saturated a cotton pad as the directed and cleaned my face. It took about 3 pads to get my face completely clean. I must admit my skin did feel refreshed, moisturized. There was no tingly or tight feeling afterwards. And there was no after smell.
The next day I wore a full face of makeup for about 10 -11hrs, no retouching. I wasn’t expecting it to breakdown all my makeup like coconut oil or wipes, so I wasn’t surprised when it didn’t. I used it just as I did the previous night. After 6 pads I got tired of trying to remove all my makeup with the cleansing water. So I whipped out the coconut oil and used the cleansing water to remove the residual. Eventually I’m sure the cleansing water could have done the job, but I didn’t want to waste any more product.
On a face with no makeup, I feel that this product is perfect 5 out of 5. Two to three cotton pads will have your face clean without stripping the natural oils. This product is light, has no odor and it feels like pure water. But after a full face makeup day, my opinion is that it doesn’t work well alone.
I personally add an extra step when using this on a full face of makeup. The coconut oil then the Garnier miceller water. This leaves my skin clean and refreshed. I have bought this product twice and I honestly prefer using it in the morning as a cleanser.
